In New Orleans, culinary tradition has it that the locals enjoy red beans and rice on Mondays and fried fish on Fridays. Likewise, the rest of the week's meals - when properly done - make up a soul food lover's paradise of sultry seafood delights and flavorful southern fried specialties. Thankfully, Minnie's Catfish Corner, the city's newest soul food experience, is ensuring that every day of the week can be filled with the best tasting New Orleans style food in a classy neo-soul atmosphere.
In this spirit, Minnie's Catfish Corner is a welcomed departure from pre-fabricated recipes and bland tasting misrepresentations of real New Orleans style cuisine. In addition to putting that home-grown flair into each savory morsel of New Orleans that it serves up, The Catfish Corner promises a quaint and classy aesthetic that's pleasantly uncharacteristic of most soul food restaurants.

Just prior to hurricane Katrina, brother and sister, Jeff & Deirdre Williams, native New Orleanians, worked feverishly to create a one-of-a-kind deep south dining experience, featuring their mother’s own Famous Fried Catfish, hence the name Minnie’s Catfish Corner. Despite the devastation that threatened this dream, their hard work has paid off, giving New Orleans something it most certainly deserves and giving birth to Minnie's Catfish Corner.
What sets The Catfish Corner apart? Thanks for asking. For decades in New Orleans, some of the most skilled chefs were just ordinary people; aunts, uncles, grandmothers, grandfathers and the like. These culinary connoisseurs have put their heart and soul - and as many locals say "their big toe" - into dozens of home grown, mouthwatering delicacies, enjoyed at many a second line, family gathering, church dinner, fish fry, parade, party and happy hour for many years.
